The Ryder Cup, a biennial professional golf tournament, was founded in 1927 by Samuel Ryder. 12 players from Europe compete against 12 players from the United States in a match play format every two years. The Ryder Cup will be played at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, NY, marking the first time Bethpage Black will host the prestigious event.
